The European Regional Development Fund is one of the five European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF).
ERDF is focused on reducing economic disparities within and between EU member states by supporting economic growth, regeneration, and safeguarding jobs.
ERDF can, therefore, support a range of activities designed to make small to medium-sized employers (SMEs) more competitive, develop ICT infrastructure, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and support companies to develop and strengthen research and innovation programmes.
In England, the ERDF is managed by the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government supports the UK Government’s growth priorities of rebalancing the economy and supporting key initiatives such as the Midlands Engine and the Northern Powerhouse.
D2N2 recommends projects for ERDF funding that seek to address these goals.
Final recommendations for funding projects in the D2N2 region are made by the ESIF Committee.

Technical Assistance
The D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership Technical Assistance (TA) website is an information source for partners and organisations with an interest in European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF).
The site contains information on how to apply for and successfully run an ESIF-funded project and about projects already being delivered in the D2N2 area.
The aim of the TA website is to encourage potential partners and providers to understand the nature, range, and scope of ESIF opportunities; allowing them to be better informed and to contribute to their delivery as appropriate.
